| The LCDP is a county-wide consortium of cultural institutions interested in digitizing Lancaster county newspaper and manuscript collections. The consortium was formed in the spring of 2004, with regularly scheduled meetings at the Lancaster County Historical Society, and other member institutions. The consortium welcomes additional Lancaster county institutions interested in digitizing and preserving their historic, print based collections. The
New Holland Clarion - [update July 2005] The New Holland Clarion (1873-1950) is now available on microfilm at the ELANCO Library, the Lancaster County Historical Society, and the Historical Society of the Cocalico Valley. [update March 2007] The New Holland Clarion (1873-1950) has been selected for digitization by the Office of Commonwealth Libraries/LSTA. Project completion is scheduled for summer of 2008! Columbia Spy - LSTA Grant Applications 2005 - LCDP is currently drafting two LSTA grant applications to digitize portions of the Millersville University Snapper, and the Columbia Spy. [update Feb. 2005] The Columbia Spy (1830-1850; 1870-1889) has been selected for digitization by the PA Dept. of Education/LSTA! [update Dec. 2005] The Columbia Spy (1850-1870) has been digitized and incorporated into the Penn State PA Civil War Newspapers Collection [update March 2006] The complete run of the Columbia Spy (1830-1889) has been digitized and made available through the Lancaster County Historical Society Franklin &
Marshall College Student Newspaper - Lancaster Journal (Weekly) - F&M has received an $8,000 grant from the Gladys Krieble Delmas Foundation to digitize twenty years of the Lancaster Journal weekly newspaper, 1816-1836! [update October 2006] Digitization of the Lancaster Journal (Weekly) is currently underway, and will be made available in the summer of 2007. [update October 2007] Digitization of the Lancaster Journal (Weekly) is complete, and can be accessed at the F&M Student Newspaper site. Please select Lancaster Journal (1816-1836) from the drop-down Publications menu. |
